My name is Jack Kelsh.  I live in Billings, MT and drive a local route here.  My story is that I went from 365 pounds to 190 pounds, even while driving a truck.  I designed a workout that I could do from the driver's seat while driving.  It's a total body, resistance training workout.  I also have an exercise wheel I use every day.       With a focus on proper nutrition and exercise, I wrote a book titled: "Nineteen Wheels, the Professional Driver's Amateur Workout and Guide to Healthy Living on the Road."  The book tells my stroy of how I got to where I was...some of the psychological factors and habits, to how I got to where I am now.       I have a website: www.safetythruwellness.com.  On there you can see my information and order my book and exercise wheel.  There are no pills or memberships to buy.  It is just solid, traditional principles and motivationg anecdotes.       I hope to get this into the hands of every driver.  The book spells out, not only the driver's seat workout, but how to eat properly on the road, even from a buffet.  I also include brand names and store names in order to inform drivers where, on the road, to get the food necessary to make this work.  It is not whacky food, though.  It is common, every-day food that is healthy.      Please check out http://www.safetythruwellness.com.

I think I read about you somewhere else before.
The resistance training is what caught my attention because that is the main exercise I do from the cab too.

I've often read articles that give drivers advice to get out and just walk. I always cringe at that advice because truck stops or highways are not the safest places to be walking.

We do park further away from the terminals so that we can get some walking in. But to just do laps in the parking lot or walk along an unknown road isn't something I feel safe doing.

However resistance training is great and can be done in privacy and safety inside the cab.

Thank you for sharing your experience and making the effort to motivate others!!

Jack,

We met at Las Vegas, just wanted to say Congrats again, you are proof that if you work hard and you want it bad enough, anything is possible. You look great!

That was a great news story video on your site!

(Hey! I've been doing similar "crunches" in the drivers seat, but I use a resistance band.)  Cheesy
