We hear plenty of the downside of trucking at truck stops, while waiting at customer sites, and at company terminals.

But while we have those "Murphy" days and right now the industry is going through a tough time. The truth is, I LOVE my job. The wonderufl things about it far outweigh the bad.

Before becoming a driver, I'd worked six years for a major airline. I knew my geography pretty well because I knew where all the airports were that we fly in and out of. I'd even been to quite a few places. But it wasn't until I began driving OTR that I really got to know our country. I've been to 47 of the 48 lower states (can't seem to get a run into Vermont).

Who else pays you to get to see this awesome country of ours?

Most drivers avoid driving I90 & I 94 during the winter. Who can blame them? But a few years ago while driving up there near Fargo, we had to pull off because the road was too icy. It was early morning, at sunrise, and for the first time in my life I saw a Sun Dog.

I'd never seen one before and I am so glad I had the chance to witness the breathtaking phenomenon.

Sun Dogs happen when the sun is low in the sky and it is really, really cold and ice crystals form in the atmosphere. Sun Dogs appear to both the left and right of the sun when the rays are reflected/refracted as they pass through the ice crystals.

Here's what a Sun Dog looks like: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/com/images/fs20070504_lead_lrg2.jpg

Last month we got to see the conjunction of Jupiter, Venus, and the moon. It was really amazing! It was closest on Dec 1 & Dec 2.

We had stopped to switch drivers and noticed that two planets were very close to each other and the moon. I was surprised I'd not noticed such a thing before.

Well, after googling around to find out which planets they were ... I found out it doesn't happen often!

check it out here:

When I archlord money, was about 13, my parents decided to buy an old house in the country. They found an old school house for sale and the main quarters were the headmaster’s house. The headmaster’s house being the larger of the two was the one we lived in. The school house was used as guest accommodation when family and friends came to visit. I loved living there because whenever I had friends stay over, we could use the school house unsupervised and because the place had a kitchen and a bathroom we never had to go to the main archlord money house.
This one dog clothes, night in particular I had two people staying in the house with me my best friend Sandy and my cousin Shane. We collected all the things we would need for the night and set up our sleeping bags in the middle of the room. We talked until the early hours of the morning, and as we were all getting sleepy we thought it was a good time to say goodnight. We were doing our rip-off of the Waltons "good night Jim Bob, etc." when I saw something out the corner of my eye. It was one green orb about the size of a small dinner plate and it went from one side of the room straight over to the fire place and just stopped. My friends had also noticed and we were all whispering, "What is dog clothes that?"
Feeling unusually maple story mesos, brave, I decided to prove that it was the moon because that’s all it could have been; we were out in the middle of nowhere and there were no lights of any kind. I got up and went to look out the window. But there was no light source; the moon was behind the clouds and outside was pitch maple story mesos black.
Just as I was flyff penya, about to say this, all the windows in the room started to shake and the orb was changing in colour from green to orange to red and getting brighter all the time. I bac
