This can be such a touchy subject.
My husband and I have had a number of dispatchers. Some better than others. But we manage to make it work.
I think what helps is that most of our dispatchers (including our current one) have been drivers.

Also, my husband has dispatcher experience and I have management experience. Actually I have dispatcher experience too, but it was with an ambulance company. But I have transportation management experience as well.

What I am trying to say, is that if the driver can understand where the dispatcher is coming from and the dispatcher can see where the driver is coming from ... it really helps with the communication.

That may seem like a simplistic statement, but all too often it is that very thing NOT happening that causes many of the communication problems.

I once heard a driver describe himself as a "professional tourists and his dispatcher was his travel agent>'  I would say they had a GREAT relationship! Smiley
