They say "timing is everything."  Does anybody have an opinion on when the right time to buy would be? Huh

Hello . It is my personal opinion that right now is a buyers market with a flood of used trucks you can name your price on to a certain degree . With respect to a new purchase however many questions need to be asked before making a move . New emission regs have been the guiding factor in big fleet purchases as well as owner/op's and the wait and see attitude which could make or break you . " How will these new engines perform ? " With new regs set for the 2010 models the same list of factors remain in place with them as with all the previous emmision upgrades . How will they perform , what/when will all the bugs be worked out , cost , mpg , etc . The debate is still on about egr or scr technology . Personally I am holding off till 2011 to make a purchase and this is simply to insure I have the most up to date technology that meets all and any future emission regs by states such as California , etc not to mention who puts out the best mpg ratings . Again , I want the best and cleanest burning diesel engine available to me based on the performance records of all makes over the course of the first year of the newest motors on the road . If you look at what the past has brought and the moves by big fleets I'd suggest to sit tight to wait and see . To answer all your questions I would refer you to the Oct . 08 issue of Heavy Duty Trucking . Be safe and God Bless . Little Mr

THe market for used trucks does seem t be dwindeling a bit. But one never knows. I guess you have to figure out just what you are willing to pay for and how you are wanting to use the truck. Just got back from the 2010 Mid American Truck show. LOTS of new stuff coming our way.
